Cham wasn’t exactly sure how this would all go over. Her mother, the beautiful and loved Jean Grey had ‘turned evil’ and tried to kill everyone. In short. She had been spare of death and immobilized in the labs beneath the school for three months. An hour and a half ago she awoke.
Cham was the first to find her awake. She hadn’t been a part of the war against Phoenix so all she ever knew of the person that took over her mothers body where the stories. Regardless, she had fallen right into her mother’s arms.
She had gone to find Dr. McCoy and he had run tests on the newly awakened woman; he was pleased to find no trace of Phoenix. Jean had asked to get washed up and changed then to go eat. She had taken a shower in the decontamination room: not pleasant by any means, but it was functional. Cham had brought her some of her old clothes and waited for her mother to finish.
They snuck upstairs to the kitchen. Jean wasn’t trying to hide, but she hadn’t wanted to see everyone for the first time with her stomach growling louder than Logan. Luckily, lunch was over and no one was there. Jean eat while Cham explained things that had happened and what was going on in the school.
Now, the pair stood at the doors to the great hall, ready to go out. The bell had just rung and voices could be heard exiting from classrooms. This was the final moment of truth. Cham looked back at her mother. “You ready?”

The shower had done Jean some good making her feel more human as had the change of clothing. Camille had brought her a couple of things to choose from and she had settled with a black long sleeved blouse that was off the shoulder, black jeans, and black boots. Her long hair remained down to fall thickly down her back to her waist. Once she was dressed and feeling better it had been off to the kitchens to eat, she had been fed through iv's for the last 3 months while she had laid comatose.
Real food to fill her stomach was wonderful and she practically inhaled the soup, salad and sandwiches Camille had made for her. Once she had been fed and looked presentable again the two stood at the doors leading off the dining room and into the main hall of the school. Jean caught random fragments of thought from the students behind the doors but she was able to deal with it as she once had before. When her daughter spoke emerald eyes met the younger woman's and Jean gave a silent nod.

Cham placed both hands on either side of the seam between doors and pushed lightly. Despite the fact that they looked incredibly heavy, the hinges where well oiled and the doors swung open.
Whispers filled the hall instantly as students sopped and where then run into by others. Murmurs of “Dear God” and “It can’t be” and “Who is that?” from some of the newer students. Cham inhaled, unsure of what to do next. Should she explain to her peers what was going on or let Charles come down and do that. Surely he would hear all the commotion.

Jean remained silent once the doors were pushed open and several students stopped and murmurs chased themselves through the small group. She managed a small smile for those who were staring at her as if she had come back from the dead and she found that she couldn't really blame them. She had been down in the med lab for 3 months as little more then a corpse on machines until now.
She didn't recognize the students in front of her and couldn't help but wish to see someone she recognized aside from her daughter. Things had changed since the war Emerald eyes scanned the faces for a moment before she was glancing away. Part of her wanted to retreat and hide again but the other part that was strong forced her to remain. She couldn't hide for the rest of her life because of what had been done. She still had responsibilities here that she wasn't about to abandon.
"Perhaps it would be wise to see the professor if he's in....." Jean replied softly to her daughter from behind her knowing she would hear.

Tessa looked down the hall way, she had just left the Professors’ office. There in the door way with everyone starting at her was Jean Grey, the reason Tessa came to the school. She felt it was needed that she came and warned her about it personally. She talked to the Professor about it, he thought it would be a good idea to let her know what is happing.
She slowly walked down the steps a hand on the railing. “Are you Jean Grey?” She asked in a soft friendly voice. She then looked at the girl in front of her, that must be Jean and Scott’s daughter, she smiled at the girl as well. Her eyes then fell on the students who were staring, did they not know it was rude.
Once close enough to Jean she held out a hand. “I am not sure if you remember me, we met once before, you actually saved my life, I am Tessa.”
Once the hand shake was over she did the same to Camille. “Hello.”
Tessa turned back at Jean some of the friendliness leaving her face. “Jean, I would like to talk to you about something.” She then motioned for the door. “It would be best to talk about it with out nosey students listing in.”

Jean's head turned as she heard the new voice and her head tilted ever so slightly as the woman asked who she was and introduced herself. No she didn't remember this person but she wasn't about to be rude and say anything. She simply gave Tessa a nod in greeting and one hand reached up to settle on her daughter's shoulder. When Tessa spoke of having to talk to her about something those emerald eyes met the other woman's and Jean slowly nodded.
"I am assuming it is a matter of importance judging by the look on your face." The redhead replied softly.
Her hand remained on Camille's shoulder showing that Tessa would have to speak with the young woman in the room or not at all. Jean was not ready to let go of the one person that she recognized aside from Hank, especially since she didn't remember this woman to save her life. She couldn't help wondering where the other familiar faces were, Logan, Rogue, Bobby, even the professor.

Cham said nothing as she listened to the new girl speak. She didn't recognize the other girl at all, but she seemed to see herself in a very high position; the way she spoke tipped that off. She watched the other girl -Tessa- closely, looking for signs that could prove if she was telling the truth but none where given.
She felt her mother's long fingers grip her shoulder lightly. Cham glanced back at her mother with a quick look of uncertainty in her eyes but she realized that the overprotective stance the elder woman was taking up was a show of her wish to remain with her daughter.
Cham looked back at Tessa, not quite sure what would happen next.

Tessa’s bright blue eyes held kindness in them, it had been a while since she seen jean and the reason she was her was not a good thing. “It will not take to long I promise.” She looked at Camille, “I have known professor Xavier for some time now, I just talked to him about the manor I am going to talk to you about.” As she spoke she looked back at Jean.
She noticed how Jean held onto the young girl. They seemed so close, Jean had a family, a daughter, a husband she could not take her from them. “It is not her I am worried about it is the other students here.” She gave a smile and motioned for the door. “So she can come, you two do not need to separated.” She glanced around again, she had not seen Scott since she came here and he normally was with the Professor.
He headed for the big doors. Stepping out and holding the door open for Jean and Camille. She gave them a kind smile. "If you please?" He asked motioning for them to step out as well. She remembered hearing that Jean was in a coma, she must have just woken up.

Jean relaxed her grip slightly on Camille's shoulder when Tessa replied that she would be allowed to come along. The elder redhead gently squeezed the younger's shoulder for a moment before she was moving to follow Tessa into the room. She couldn't help being curious and just a bit wary on what Tessa had to discuss with her. The woman had spoken to the professor already, and Jean knew that if he were involved it wasn't always a good thing.
That Tessa was here now wishing to speak to her on the same matter had Jean's defenses up. The woman had been kind and friendly but Jean had dealt with too many people in the past who turned around and backstabbed to be completely trusting. As she passed by Tessa she gave the woman a nod and moved to settle in a chair and be comfortable. Emerald eyes glanced to Camille and she gave her daughter a slight nod indicating that she wished her to stand at her side at least.
Once she was settled she met Tessa's gaze and her head tilted slightly as she folded her hands into her lap. "What is this all about?"
As far as Jean was concerned it could be any number of things, perhaps news about Scott......she couldn't help the thought from passing throug her mind and she didn't shield it from Camille. The younger woman would know how much her parent's loved each other, she had seen it through the years as she grew up. Now that Jean was awake and Scott not by her side as usual she felt a little lost.

As they walked though Tessa closed the doors behind them before taking a seat. She could tell Jean w as not happy with them having to talk in private, she understood that, Tessa would feel the same way. She watched how Jean wanted her daughter to stand beside her and that was fine, Jean had been though quite a bit, having family around was needed.
Tessa had taken a seat leaning back. It came down to the truth, Tessa let out a sigh as she crossed her legs where she sat. “What this is all about is the Hellfire Club, it seems they want your power and they are willing to do anything to get you to join them, and that might mean realising the Phoenix in you once more, they have psychics with in the Inner Circle.” He watched Jean’s face seeing the reaction she might have. “I came to give the warning, I do not know how they plan on doing it, or even when, but they want you and your power for their own gain.”
She closed her eyes as she finished talking, it was not very bad news but it did affect Jean and her family. She opened them once more to look at Cham. “They might even use those you are close to.” She added knowing it was possible.

Jean glanced up from her hands when Tessa started to speak and she shook her head slowly those slender fingers lacing tightly together as the woman gave the warning about the Hellfire Club wanting her power. Those dark emerald eyes closed for a brief moment and Jean swallowed before she was looking to Tessa again and then to her daughter who stood beside her. That a member of the Hellfire Club would come and warn her about what the other's wanted to do was surprising to say the least, but Jean wasn't about to discredit it.
Her fingers unlaced and one hand came up to brush the long locks out of her eyes and face and she gave Tessa a nod of thanks. "Well then, it seems I will simply have to take precautions." She replied in a soft voice.
Her hand went up to Cham's hand resting over it as Tessa spoke of the Club resorting to using her family against her to get what they wanted. Her fingers tightened for a moment on her daughter's before she was relaxing once more and she composed her features. This hadn't been the news she wanted hours after waking from a coma, but then she hadn't wanted to hear that the love of her life was in a coma he may not wake up from either. Still she was going to do everything in her power to make sure Phoenix was not released once more.
"I cannot and will not allow Phoenix to gain control again, what was done, the people that were hurt and killed, I know it all and I feel it clawing at me, dragging me down. I cannot allow the chaos to be unleashed again, if it happens I may not come back and I do not want to be the cause of more pain and suffering."
Jean glanced back up to Camille wondering how her daughter was taking the news. The two redheads were as close as a mother and daughter could be if not moreso, the younger redhead knew how much Jean loved her. She had always done her best to give Cham what she wanted without spoiling her. Love had not been lost between the two from the moment that the child had been born. That love was reflected in those emerald eyes as Jean gazed at her daughter.
