The Black Chevy Impala's engine rumbled as it sat there at the red light. The blonde woman in the driver's seat side sighed and shook her head. They had been at this light forever and the guy in the new Corvette next to her was driving her insane. He wouldn't shut up. He was an all too good reminder of why she hated New York and New Yorkers. They never shut up and some of them are stupid beyond belief.
The light changed to green and everyone sped toward their destinations. Shelby smiled with relief now that she couldn't hear the stupid, cussing man in his sports car. She hit her blinker and turned right to get off of the main road. She sped past some cars before parallel parking as close to Times Square as she could. Which was not very close mind you.
Shelby shut the engine off and got out of the car. She adjusted her zip up hoodie that covered her white tank top. Which she wore with dark jeans and boots. She locked the car and shoved her keys into the hoodie pocket. She then began walking. For the next three blocks. Once there in Time Square she stopped and looked around. It had changed since the last time she had been here.
Last time she saw it there were men on horses and horses pulling buggies. Women walked alongside friends or husbands in their finest dresses that weren't their ball gowns. There were stables that held taxi horses and horses for rent. Little kids ran alongside their pets their laughter floating through the air. Shelby smiled at this memory. It was almost as if it were real, as if she went back in time. But her thoughts were shattered into a million pieces when she ran into someone. Sorry. She muttered and looked at him.

Shiro liked to spend time out with humans, thinking maybe he will not forget what it is like to be one instead of the freak with the fire powers. He was not the one who could kill hundreds of people if he lost control. Time Square was the best place to blend in no one knew who you were or cared they were lost in their own little world. Shiro too was in his own little world forgetting what he was and pretending to just be a human. He was paying little attention where he was going when he ran into some one.
Sorry
Shiro looked at who had walked into, a young woman. He smiled a little, “No need to be, I is my fault.” He felt slightly awkward now, “I was not paying attention it was my fault.” She was pretty with her light brown hair, or was that dark blond hair, he did not know. He held out a hand ready for a shake, “My name is Shiro.” Maybe it was habit that he introduced him self to who ever he met. But at least it was a polite habit. He waited for her to return the shake and greeting, but then began to panic that maybe she would not.

Shelby shook her head in disagreement. It wasn't his fault. It was hers. If she hadn't of been day dreaming then they wouldn't of had this problem. Nah, it was mine. No worries. She smiled lightly at the man. He seemed rather young to her. But of course she probably did to him as well. But in truth she was far from young. Very far.
The man then held his hand out. Clearly for a shake. She took it in a firm grip, not too hard though, a nd shook it. Shelby released his hand and nodded when he introduced himself. Shelby. Nice to meet you Shiro. What brings you here on a crowded Saturday morning? She said and smiled softly. Her attention was then diverted to the sound of hooves clopping against the pavement. Her chocolate brown gaze went straight toward the sound. She was secretly hoping for a horse and buggy but it was just a mounted police man. Shelby studied the man and watched as he pointed to somewhere for some people. Definitely tourists. She then realized that she was talking to someone. She moved her gaze back to Shiro.

He smiled back at her, “Well then how about we both should watch where we are going ne?” His smile was a little goofy but suited him as well. He looked her over, she was a pretty little thing, but by the way she held her self chances are she also could take care of her self, one reason why she probably was not paying attention. It surprised Shiro to see a lot of young girl who had this helpless kind of look but really had nothing to worry about. Mutation was a strange thing.
He shock her hand twice before letting go and retuning the hand to his pants pocket. Shelby he repeated in his head knowing later to add it to his memory banks in case they meet again. “Well just out for a walk, getting some sun and air. What about you?” He asked tilting his head slightly to the left. Shiro was only wearing a beater and some jeans he wanted as much sink to come into contact with the sun this morning but with out offending anyone, if he had his way he would be wearing nothing at all. He glanced up quickly at the sky before looking back at her, he wished the clouds would clear up.
